What is HACKtheMACHINE?
HACKtheMACHINE is the Navy’s premiere digital experience. Starting in 2017, this series of events brings together like-minded people from the civilian cybersecurity community, military, and private sector industry partners to solve the Navy’s toughest challenges in the spaces of information security and technology. No problem is too large. Past events have seen participants tackling IT/OT system security, additive manufacturing, aviation systems, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and so much more.
What level of skill do I need to participate?
HACKtheMACHINE is an event that is designed for all skill levels. If you are interested in helping the Navy solve real-world problems, but you don’t know where to start, just sign up. Before the event goes live, the HACKtheMACHINE team will help you find a team.
Will this event be in-person or virtual?
Can I participate in multiple tracks?
You absolutely can! This year we are offering three tracks, Maritime Cyber, Data Science, and Digital Engineering. If you are passionate about one or more of these tracks, we want you to participate.
What is the prize for winning?
If I’m active-duty military, can I win prize money?
Is this event free?
This event is brought to you by the U.S. Navy and is entirely free!
Should I compete on my own or with a team?
You are welcome to participate on your own, however in the past, teams of around # to # have been the most successful.
