    Track 1
    THE CHALLENGE

    Experience the thrill of attempting to hack commercial maritime electronics! Hosted by the U.S. Navy, this competition will give you the opportunity to hone your hacking skills, while contributing valuable ideas. Prior winning teams have provided insights that have led to security improvements, technological integration, and new approaches to pressing issues.

    In addition to your intellectual contributions, participation can lead to professional connections in areas such as industrial automation, operational technology security, and a system of systems design.

    THE PRIZES
    Prize

    COMPETITION INSIGHT AND PREPAREDNESS

    Participate as a team or individual to earn prizes up to $15,000. Compete against world-class hackers and innovators to overtake and breach the U.S. Navy’s 2021 cyber games.

    Game 1 - Grace Maritime Cyber Testbed

    Your team will hack from the cloud into the Grace Maritime Cyber Testbed. This year’s format includes a full bridge navigation suite and a fly-by-wire propulsion system running on NMEA2000.

    Game 2 - Crash

    Test one of the tools the U.S. Navy is considering for a cybersecurity monitoring environment. The U.S. Navy needs you to CRASH it and expose any vulnerabilities before it goes live!

    MISSION OBJECTIVE:

    To improve national security systems by scoring points in the games. Successfully complete both games and outperform your competition to place in the Top 3.

    YOUR IMPACT

    Improve national security systems by testing the U.S. Navy's current solutions for withstanding an onslaught of cyberattacks. The U.S. Navy garners valuable insights from every HACKtheMACHINE challenge and adapts their systems accordingly.
